Hotel
Vila Galé Ampalius is situated in Vilamoura, between the
Casino and the Marina, and is part of a
resort that offers exceptional sporting and leisure
facilities coupled with excellent facilities for hosting
meetings, congresses and incentives.
The
hotel has 357 rooms, including 54 Junior Suites and 30
Senior Suites, each equipped with air conditioning,
central heating, satellite TV, background music, a
direct telephone line, refrigerator, safe and hair
dryer.
There
are outdoor swimming pools for adults and children, the
Health Club with an indoor heated swimming pool, a
gymnasium, sauna and Jacuzzi, a laundry for washing and
drying clothes, two floodlit tennis courts and tennis
professional. the Golf Office that co-ordinates all the
necessary arrangements for playing golf, including free
transport to and from the Vilamoura and Vilasol Golf
Courses, a putting green, garage, open-air parking area
and a shopping arcade.
This course, built in the middle of a pinewood,
brings together two very different architectural
concepts – British and American. In 1988 it was
selected for the Portuguese Ladies’ Open, an event
that forms part of the woman’s professional
European circuit. Inaugurated in 1976, Pinhal Golf
Course was originally designed by the Briton Frank
Pennink. Later, in 1985, it was partly redesigned
by the North-American Robert Trent Jones, who
introduced new challenges into the course. Trent
Jones’ work has given the course a great variety
of holes as he brought together two completely
different architectural concepts: British and
American. As a result, the golfer is confronted by
very different kinds of play. Built in the middle
of a beautiful pine wood, with panoramic views
over the sea, one of the main characteristics of
this course in the small size of its greens,
requiring great precision from the golfer in terms
of approach shots. Hole number 17, with 502 meters
for a Par 5 from a championship tee, offers
players the chance of a birdie, or even an eagle
for golfers who risk driving off over the
out-of-bounds zone to the right, thereby
drastically cutting through the fairway

Located
in the town centre, the hotel offers 268 comfortable
rooms, each fully equipped with air-conditioning,
direct-dial telephone, TV, fax/modem connection,
mini-bar and safe-deposit box. Facilities include a
restaurant, bar, indoor pool, health club and meeting
rooms.
Appreciate the Arabic decoration, which is one of the
characteristics of the Hotel. Luminosity, ample spaces,
coloured decorative pieces, warm colours such as blue
and beige gives a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.
Your room balcony has access to the interior patio where
the pool is on sight. Have dinner at Alladino Grill and
appreciate grilled meat or fish. There’s always
entertainment at the Ali Ba Bar or you can go for a walk
along the river and explore the old town of Tavira.

Natural Park and spreads along an almost flat surface of
660.000 m2 down to the Ria Formosa itself, hole golf
course is in the Ria
Formosas hanging
over it and with a stunning view of the sea. It is a PAR
72, comprising two loops of 9 holes and each loop with 2
PAR 5, five PAR 4 and two PAR 3 holes. Its total length
is about 6.016 metres. Five lakes were strategically
built along the course, specifically near greens 5, 10
and 14. Hole 16, PAR 5, is played between the two
biggest lakes. The green of the PAR 3 nr. 17 is limited
by one of these lakes where an island with varied
bird-fauna may be found.
