The San Francisco Giants are a Major League Baseball team based in San Francisco, California, that currently play in the National League West Division. One of the oldest of the MLB teams, the Giants hold the distinction of having won the most games of any team in the history of organized sports. The Giants also have the most members in the Baseball Hall of Fame. The Giants played in New York until the 1957 season, after which they moved west to California to become the San Francisco Giants.
The Giants were originally called the “Gothams” but after a particularly satisfying victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, Jim Muttrie, co-founder of the team and team manager stormed into the dressing room and exclaimed, "My big fellows! My giants!" From then on, the club was known as the Giants.
San Francisco International to San Francisco City Centre The airport is located 14 miles or 22 Kms south of San Francisco. A taxi from the airport will cost approximately $45.00 BART (Bay area rapid transit) BART operates rapid rail service to northern San Mateo County, San Francisco and the East Bay directly from SFO. The SFO BART Station is located on the Departures/Ticketing Level of the International Terminal (Boarding Area G side). BART is easily accessed from any terminal by riding SFO's AirTrain to the Garage G/BART Station stop. There is no charge to board AirTrain. BART provides a connection to Caltrain at the Millbrae station. SamTrans Public Bus Service SamTrans provides 24-hour service connecting SFO to San Mateo County and parts of San Francisco and Palo Alto.

The San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni), founded in 1912, is one of America’s oldest public transit agencies and today carries over 200 million customers per year. Muni provides transit service within the city and county of San Francisco 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Muni operates 80 routes throughout San Francisco with stops within 2 blocks of 90% of all residences in the city. Operating Historic streetcars, modern light rail vehicles, diesel buses, alternative fuel vehicles, electric trolley coaches, and the world famous cable cars, Muni’s fleet is among the most diverse in the world.
City Centre to Candlestick Park Direct bus services to Candlestick Park are available for all games on the San Francisco Municipal Railway (MUNI). Services 77x, 78x and 79x will take you to and from the game.
City Centre to AT&T Park Take the Muni Metro N or T line directly to the ballpark - the Second and King Muni Metro station is right next to the ballpark. Muni buses 10, 30, 45 and 47 also stop within one block of the ballpark.
City Centre to The Oracle Arena The Oracle Arena is accessible by the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system. See www.bart.gov for full details of stations and timetables. The journey takes about 25 minutes and they operate every 10-15 minutes. After the game the trains are lined up to take people back to San Francisco
